Childhood Vaccinations
Kiama Downs Medical Practice provides all childhood immunisations as part of the National Immunisation Program (NIP). Our experienced nurses administer vaccinations in a calm, child-friendly environment.
For patients who are under 4 years old:
After your GP appointment, Blue Book baby checks and children's vaccine appointments are bulk billed when booked through our reception team on (02) 4237 7502. Please note that Blue Book checks can't be booked online — simply give us a call and we'll arrange it for you.
National Immunisation Program Schedule
The NIP provides free vaccines at key ages to protect children against serious diseases. The schedule includes vaccinations at:
- Birth (Hepatitis B)
- 2 months
- 4 months
- 6 months
- 12 months
- 18 months
- 4 years
- 10–15 years (school-based programs)
Diseases We Vaccinate Against
The NIP schedule protects children against:
- Whooping cough (pertussis)
- Measles, mumps and rubella
- Chickenpox (varicella)
- Meningococcal disease
- Pneumococcal disease
- Rotavirus
- Diphtheria, tetanus and polio
- Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
- Hepatitis B
Blue Book Checks
We offer bulk billed Blue Book baby health checks. These checks are completed by our nurses and track your child's growth and development at key milestones.

Catch-Up Vaccinations
If your child has missed any scheduled vaccinations, our nurses can arrange a catch-up schedule. Please bring your child's immunisation history (available from the Australian Immunisation Register) to your appointment.
