Our Approach

Your GP will thoroughly assess your injury, which may include physical examination and ordering imaging such as X-rays, ultrasound or MRI when indicated. We develop a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.

Treatment may include:

  • Acute injury management and pain relief
  • Referral for physiotherapy and rehabilitation
  • Referral to orthopaedic specialists when needed
  • Exercise prescription and return-to-sport guidance
  • Injury prevention advice
  • Joint injections where appropriate

When to See a GP for a Sports Injury

You should see your GP if you have:

  • Pain that does not improve after a few days of rest
  • Significant swelling or bruising
  • Difficulty bearing weight or using the injured area
  • A joint that feels unstable or locks
  • Numbness or tingling
  • A suspected fracture or dislocation
